Despite protests by Southern lawmakers at the National Assembly, Nigerian Senators, Thursday, July 15 passed a bill adopting a three percent allocation to host crude oil-producing communities in the Petroleum Industry Bill. Nigerian Supreme Court has granted an interim injunction stopping the federal government and its agencies from ceding 17 disputed oil wells from Rivers State to Imo State, following a lawsuit brought before the apex court by the Rivers State Government.
