Tot actualise its agenda, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) intends to borrow $3.8 billion to acquire a 20 per cent stake in Dangote Refinery. NNPC Group Managing Director, Mallam Mele Kyari, said Tuesday that the money would be borrowed from financial institutions. The 650,000 barrels per day refinery located in Lagos State, expected to come on stream in 2022, will produce 50 million litres of petrol per day. The Federal Government has re-arrested and repatriated the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu to Nigeria. A jobless Indian who is now serving more than 1,000 years’ jail for raping his step daughter has applied to set aside his conviction and sentence.
