The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has announced that at least 105 medical doctors in Ondo State resigned in the past year. NMA State Chairman, Dr. Stella Adegbehingbe, and State Secretary, Dr. Olorunfemi Owa blamed this on irregular and percentage payment of salaries by the state government. The group which also disclosed that there’s been no replacement of those who resigned, alleged that only three House Officers are left in the service of the Ondo State Government across the three senatorial zones in the state. France has fined Google £190 million after finding the tech giant abused its dominant market position while selling online advertisements. French regulators found Google had pushed publishers to use its platforms for selling adverts while unfairly punishing rival platforms, using a range of tactics which included charging ”opaque and variable commission fees. ” Google has agreed to pay the fine and end some of its self-preferencing practices, the watchdog said. According to BBC Pidgin, the Port Harcourt-based Pastor died in the early hours of Sunday, June 6, at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja. Seventeen youths from Kano State have died in an auto crash along Zaria-Kano Highway. The accident, it was gathered, occurred Saturday evening, June 5, when they were returning from wedding of their friend in Zaria, Kaduna state. The victims who of them were siblings travelled in a Kano Line bus and a RAV 4 car. Sadiq Abdullahi, a friend to one of the deceased, Umar Abba-Sheriff, who confirmed the incident said Sheriff died on the spot along with 11 of the victims while the remaining six passed away in a hospital. The Niger Delta Affairs Minister, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has assured to fast track the reconstitution of substantive Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) board. The Joint Action Committee of industrial unions in Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) has defied the school management’s resumption of duty order by calling on their members to continue sit-at-home directive until all their pressing demands are settled. The committee comprises Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational, Associated Institutions (NASU), Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and National Association of Academic Technologists (NAATI).
