The abduction fire in Nigeria is spreading as unknown gunmen, Wednesday, kidnapped an unspecified number of students of Abia State University Uturu, ABSU. The students were abducted from a commercial bus while returning from Okigwe in Imo state to Uturu around 8 p.m. on Wednesday night, May 5. The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has distributed essential science equipment worth millions of Naira to some secondary schools in the Niger Delta region of the country. The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the 2020 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for external candidates. This was announced on Thursday by the Registrar of the Council, Professor Godswill Obioma. He stated that 41,459 candidates registered for the examination out of 39,503 candidates who sat for it. Professor Obioma explained that a total of 26,277 candidates obtained five credits and above including English Language and Mathematics while 34,014 candidates also obtained five credits and above irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.
