Akwa Ibom police, Wednesday, could not arraign seven suspects arrested over the alleged molestation of an 11-year-old student of the Deeper Life High School, Uyo. This followed the absence of a presiding magistrate in Magistrate Court, off Ikot Ekpene Road in Uyo Local Government Area to hear the case. Few days ago, Ekiti government doled out N60 million as housing loan to some teachers and other workers in the state. In addition, the state Government has disbursed another N100 million as car loans to 278 civil servants. Zamfara State Government has wielded a big hammer against more than 500 private schools in the state by revoking their licences for being unable to meet the required operational guidelines. The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, has admitted that it effected a hike in electricity tariff for some service bands in order to reflect the partial impact of inflation and movement in foreign exchange rates.
