Telecommunications operators in the country are given two weeks to block SIM Cards not registered with the National Identity Numbers, NIN. An executive committee member of Nigeria Football Federation has died at the age of 61. He was Emmanuel Ibah from Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. Ibah, who was the NFF coordinator for the South-South zone, was also the Akwa Ibom football association chairman until his death. His death on Tuesday morning made him the third member of the NFF Executive Committee and the fourth key figure in the NFF to have passed away this year. Henceforth, students involved in examination malpractice will be barred from taking the West African Senior School Certificate Examination. In a communique released after the meeting, the West African Examinations Council has approved this sanction and other sanctions at the 70th meeting of the Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC) of the council held from Thursday to Saturday last week in Lagos. An 18-year-old student of Government Science School, Kankara in Katsina State, has narrated how he escaped from bandits who kidnapped hundreds of his colleagues last Friday. Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has clarified that the union’s rejection of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information Management System (IPPIS) has nothing to do with its current strike.
