The Bayelsa Police Command has confirmed recovery of the bodies of the six police officers who drowned on election duty in Southern Ijaw on Saturday. The police officers who headed to Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State for the bye-election were involved in the boat mishap. Nigeria has recorded 318 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control. This is as Akwa Ibom has recorded 10 new infections of the pandemic on Sunday, bringing the total confirmed cases in the state to 358 while 321 have been discharged and nine persons have died so far. Abia Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has wielded a big hammer against his Chief of Staff, Anthony Agbazuere, for spraying money on a popular clergyman, Odumeje Indaboski, in his office.
