A total of 76 persons reportedly died from yellow fever in three Nigerian states within 11 days, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced. The affected states are Bauchi, Delta and Enugu states and the deaths occurred between November 1 and 11. While 74 suspected cases involving 35 deaths were reported from Delta State, 70 suspected cases with 33 deaths from Enugu and 78 suspected cases with eight deaths was also reported in Bauchi State. Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has confirmed 156 new COVID-19 infections and one death in the country. Tragedy struck as no fewer than18 persons perished in a river when their boat capsized at Zango Majiya village, Itas-Gadau Local Government Area of Bauchi State. The incident was said to have occurred on Thursday, November 13 when one Nuhu Kaila of Zango Majiya village ferried 23 people who were heading to their farms. From January to October 2020, banks in the country guaranteed 28,830 loans worth N3.6 billion to farmers under Agricultural Credit Guarantee Scheme Fund (ACGSF), Central Bank of Nigeria stated.
