The teenager wedded Abdulrzak Ampatuan who is nearly four times her age in the Philippines. She became his fifth wife after the ceremony held on October 22. Nine Nigerian states, Monday, was ravaged by COVID-19, forcing the country to record 157 new infections in one day, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has reported. Nigeria’s inflation rose to 14.23 percent, 0.52 percent higher than the 13.71 percent recorded in September, according to National Bureau of Statistics. In a report released on Monday November 16, the bureau said the core food index rose by 17.38 percent majorly driven by increases in food items. Core inflation also maintained a steady rise to 11.14 percent, from the 10.58 percent reported in August this year. The Federal government has earmarked N3 billion conditional cash transfer for 150,000 poor women from the 36 states in the country. Already, the government has disbursed N20,000 to poor women resident in rural communities of Bauchi State. The conditional cash transfer is designed to provide succour for the poorest and most vulnerable women in rural communities.
