The Cross River State Police Command apprehended a three-man robbery gang and recovered a 2018 Corolla Toyota worth more than N8 million in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The operation which was spearheaded by Anti-Kidnapping/Cultism Team, AKCT, tracked the gang from Calabar to Uyo where they were apprehended after robbing their victim in his house before taking his car. It was discovered that they had already put up the car which is currently being sold between N7.5 million to N8 million for sale for N1 million at a car stand in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state before the crack team apprehended them.…
President Muhmmadu Buhari, Tuesday, extended the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker/Extraordinary National Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC for another six months. This is as the APC National Executive Council, NEC, has approved expulsion of the party’s former National Vice Chairman, South-south, Ntufam Hilliard Eta, for failure to withdraw the court case instituted against the caretaker committee. The APC Emergency NEC also dissolved all states, zonal and National Party structures. After the meeting, Governors Nasir el-Rufai, Hope Uzodinma, Rotimi Akeredolu of Kaduna, Imo and Ondo States respectively briefed State House correspondents.
Federal Capital Territory is topping the states in more COVID-19 as Nigeria recorded 390 new infections. Of the number, FCT has 89 followed by Gombe and Lagos with 62 and 35 respectively. A total of 68 persons lost their lives while 129,000 others were displaced in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, this year, National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has said. The revelations were contained in a speech delivered by the agency’s Director-General, Muhammadu Muhammed, at the 2020 flood after-action review technical meeting with stakeholders on Monday in Abuja.
