    1,386 New Cases, 14 Deaths Recorded In Nigeria

    Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has confirmed 1,386 new COVID-19 in the country, bringing the total to 114,691.

    NCDC in its official Twitter handle of Wednesday, January 20 said 14 persons died, bringing the total number to 1,478 since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country.

    So far, 92,336 persons have successfully been treated and discharged.

    On the new cases, the public health agency said they were reported from 21 states including Federal Capital Territory.

    Lagos was leading with 476 followed by Rivers, 163; FCT, 116; Kaduna, 114 and Oyo, 68.

    Others were Plateau (62), Ogun (56), Imo (55), Osun (55), Edo (51), Anambra (50), Kwara (44), Kano (17), Ebonyi (14), Cross River (10), Delta (10), Jigawa (8), Bayelsa (6), Ekiti (6), Borno (2), Taraba (2), and Zamfara (1).

    ”A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities

    ”Our discharges today includes 626 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines,’’ it added.

    Meanwhile, World Health Organisation reported 94,963,847 as updated confirmed cases, while 2,050,857 from 224 countries in the world died as at January 20.
