Imo State government has approved the release of N2 billion out of N6 billion to youths in the state to change their lives through empowerment of skills. The Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma,  stated this Monday in an address to Imolites in Owerri, on his plans to solve youth’s restiveness arising from the EndSARs protests. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 119 COVID-91 new cases in Nigeria. In a Twitter handle on Monday night, NCDC said Lagos has 77 new cases, FCT-26, Plateau-9, Edo-4; Oyo-2 and Nasarawa-1. According to the health agency, 62,111 total cases are confirmed while 57,571 persons were discharged discharged and 1,132 died.

A 25-year-old automobile mechanic, Monday, who allegedly beheaded his five-year-old daughter in Gbongan, Osun State is on the run. The mechanic, Albert Olaposi Monday reportedly visited the residence of his mother and took away the deceased, Mercy. Julio Cesar Mora Tapia died at his home in the Ecuadorian capital of Quito, at around 11p.m on October 22, leaving behind his 104-year-old wife who he married in 1941. Julio and his widow, 104-year-old Waldramina ‘Waldrita’ Maclovia Quinteros Reyes, achieved the Guinness World Record for the world’s oldest married couple in August 2020. A total of 30 suspected hoodlums have been arrested by Special Military Task Force, Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) for vandalising and looting valuables at the Jos residence of former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Yakubu Dogara. Three major television stations in Nigeria have been sanctioned by the National Broadcasting Station (NBC). The acting Director-General of the commission, Armstrong Idachaba who made the announcement on Monday, October 26 alleged that the Africa Independent Television (AIT), Arise Television and Channels Television violated the broadcast code by using unverifiable online video footages on social media. It is gathered that the television stations were accused of airing unverified images of the alleged shooting which took place at Lekki toll gate.
