Google is updating its free mapping service this week with color-coding that maps out areas infected with COVID-19 cases, the search giant said in a blog post Thursday. Tapping the new “COVID-19” option in a layers feature in a top corner of a screen will enhance maps using the latest 7-day average of cases per 100,000 people in areas being viewed, it said. Nigeria, Friday, notched 58,062 COVID-19 cases after recording 213 new infections. Two new deaths were reported as a result of the virus, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has dispelled rumours in the social media that it has called off its seven-month-old strike. During a foiled attack, Nigerian troops, Thursday, rescued an eight-month-old baby including three kidnapped victims who had been in the custody of the criminals for more than 23 days. The troops of “Operation Sahel Sanity” also killed 21 bandits during the attack on Doka village in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
