The Federal government of Nigeria, Friday, complied with the order of a United Kingdom Court to deposit $200 million with it as a condition for hearing its appeal against the whopping $9.2 billion judgment debt against it, in favour of an Irish firm, Process and Industrial Development (P&ID). About 218,000 Nigerian refugees are residing in Chad, Cameroon and Niger Republic. Addressing a news conference in Abuja on Wednesday, Mr. Anthonio Canhandula, the United Nations High Commission (UNHCR) country representative, urged the Federal Government to create conditions that would facilitate the return of the refugees to the country. Canhandula stated that Nigeria is currently housing 46,000 refugees from Cameroon, which is spread across Benue, Cross River, and the Taraba States.
