The Senate, Thursday, suspended Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, for six months over alleged misconduct and refusal to comply with the chamber’s sitting arrangement during the plenary session on 20 February. The upper chamber, however, said if Mrs Akpoti-Uduaghan submits a written apology, the leadership of the chamber may consider lifting the suspension before the six-month period expires. The Federal Government has announced its readiness to establish a second Nigerian Police Academy in the country  to be sited in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. Already, the first Nigerian Police Academy is sited in Wudil, Kano State. The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved contract for the dualisation of Odupani-Itu-Idedem Item-Ikot Ekpene Federal Road in Cross River and Akwa Ibom States put at N55 billion. Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested and quizzed a former Akwa Ibom governor, Udom Emmanuel, for alleged N700 billion fraud. Emmanuel was arrested after he honoured an invitation of the EFCC on Tuesday to answer allegations of money laundering and diversion of funds preferred against him by the Network against Corruption and Trafficking.
