The FIFA Secretary-General, Fatma Samoura has been appointed as “FIFA General Delegate for Africa” to man the football body for a six-month period. The appointment will begin from 1 August 2019 to 31 January 2020, renewable with the agreement of both organisations. It nose-dived by 13 percent in 2018, to $1.3 trillion from $1.5 trillion the previous year. A faction of the Hope Democratic Party, HDP, has approached the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja to withdraw a petition filed in the name of the party, which is challenging the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari.
