More than 37 persons perished in the Monday’s tanker explosion in Ahumbe village, Gwer East local government area of Benue State, Mr. Aliyu Baba, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC of the State Command said. Following the near air mishap involving Air Peace aircraft at the Port Harcourt International Airport recently, the House of Representatives Tuesday urged all relevant agencies in the aviation sector to ensure that all safety rules and standards were enforced henceforth. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has directed the Nigerian Police to provide it with case files of electoral offenders in the last general elections in order to commence their immediate prosecution.
