Aliko Dangote, president of Dangote group, has said the poor performance of the country’s power sector was hindering growth of the economy. Dangote spoke at a consultative round-table session for public and private sector stakeholders organised by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, in Lagos, weekend. Religious bodies in Kaduna State have expressed divergent views on the passage of the bill to regulate preaching in the state. The state House of Assembly had, on Friday, passed the executive bill which was introduced in 2016. Reacting to the development, Sunny Akanni, counsel to the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, threatened to sue the state assembly for disobeying a court order restraining it from taking any action on the bill, pending the determination of a suit before the state high court. No fewer than 18 persons including pregnant women, were burnt beyond recognition in an auto crash Saturday at Oba-Ile, Akure North area of Ondo state.
