Akwa Ibom Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel is currently holding a valedictory state executive council, EXCO, meeting for the outgoing members of his cabinet at the EXCO hall, Government House, Uyo.
The meeting that should have been held last Wednesday did not hold because the Governor had official engagements outside the state.
A source in Government House, Uyo speculated that at the end of the meeting on Sunday evening, the Governor may dissolve the EXCO.
This is preparatory for the swearing in and subsequent inauguration of Emmanuel for a second term in office as Akwa Ibom governor on Wednesday, May 29.
Thereafter, the governor would announce Secretary to the State Government as the first appointment followed by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor and perhaps Chief of Staff to the Governor.
Later, the SSG who serves as engine room of the government will be the one to send list of newly appointed commissioners and Special Advisers by the Governor to the state Director of Security Service for security checks and then Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly for deliberations and confirmation.
Insiders in government believe that Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem, the current occupant of the office might be retained due to his high performance of duty.
