More than 200 female students of Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, Talata Mafara Local Government Area in Zamfara State have been reportedly abducted by gunmen Thursday night, the BBC HAUSA Service has reported.
This is barely nine days after abduction of 27 students and some staffers of Government Science College, Kagara in Niger State.
Zamfara government and police authorities are yet to react to the development.
However, the BBC HAUSA report monitored on Friday morning, said a teacher in the affected school and one of the parents of a student in the Zamfara school had confirmed the development.
Four years after, gunmen hit Government Girls’ Science and Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State, and abducted 119 students.
In December 2020, over 300 male students were abducted at Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State.
