The daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari, Zahra Buhari-Indimi has shared Saudi Islamic scholar’s view that Muslims should not take matters into their own hands when someone insults Prophet Muhammad.
Sheikh Al-Hakeem is one of the prominent propagators of Islam in English in Saudi Arabia.
The mother of two reposted few seconds of Sheikh Al-Halkeem’s video on her Instagram stories on Sunday, May 14, three days after the gruesome murder of a female student in Sokoto, Deborah Samuel, for alleged blasphemy.

Deborah’s remains were laid to rest in her hometown, Tungan Magajiya in Rijau Local Government Area of Niger State on Saturday.
“This depends if you are in a Muslim country. This is a major offence that requires the intervention of the Muslim ruler. You simply report these individuals to the court or to the Muslim ruler,” the Islamic scholar said.
“It’s the duty of the Muslim ruler to execute after going through the legislative processes and going in front of panel of judges.
“You must not take matters into your own hands because this will turn the community into a jungle,” he added.
Recall that Captain Jamil Abubakar, son of a retired Inspector General of Police had tweeted in support of death sentence for blasphemy, which was a tacit support for the killing of a Christian student by her Muslim counterparts for alleged blasphemy.
Meanwhile, Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Mathew Kukah has suspended Masses in Sokoto metropolis until the curfew imposed by the State Government is lifted.
Sokoto state government imposed the 24-hour curfew after protests rocked parts of Sokoto city over the detention of two persons linked to the gruesome killing of Christian student, Deborah Samuel.
