The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has deployed 2,310 officers and men of the Force and sister security agencies for Saturday’s bye elections holding at Ikono, Etim Ekpo, Ika and Abak Local Government Areas.
A press release signed by SP Odiko Macdon, Akwa Ibom Police Public Relations Officer, says Commissioner of Police, Olatoye Durosinmi has ordered for watertight security in each of the said local government areas.
The Commissioner of Police has urged electorates to go out and exercise their franchise without fear of manifestation as the command and sister agencies will ensure that elections are conducted in the affected areas in a secure and crisis free manner.
He further directed security agencies involved in the exercise to be professional in the course of the exercise.
Durosinmi thanked Akwa Ibomites for their commitment towards effective security and orderliness in the state.
