Former Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri is the new darling of Chelsea Football Club, England.
Antonio Conte, the departing manager lost face with the club’s owner, Abramovich on Friday owing to the woeful performance of Chelsea in joining Champions League next season.
However, Sarri has found favour in the sight of the club’s owner who sees him as a favourite for the plum job- their new manager.
The 59-year-old Italian who has not wasted time in signing a three-year deal for the premier league club.
“I am very happy to be coming to Chelsea and the Premier League. It is an exciting new period in my career,” Sarri told ChelseaFC.com
Sarri began his managerial career in 2000, starting with several low-tier clubs.
In 2005, Sarri entered the second-highest division in Italy, working for Serie B side Pescara.
Sarri failed to win the league title for Napoli, but helped the club finish second twice and third once in the last 3 seasons.
