The strained relationship between David Adeleye popularly known as Davido and Chioma Rowland, his ex-fiancé, has brought to the public space some cover-ups.

While the tango between the popular Nigerian musician and Chioma lasted, Davido waltzed Assurance in 2017 to shower love on his estranged girlfriend who starred in Davido’s music video for Assurance.

Later, Davido told The Juice that the video sparked a spiral of hate from fans between Chioma and her family.

“Even her parents use to get hate texts. It affected our relationship a lot because, before the Assurance video, stuff was so cool. The relationship became a public relationship,” he said.

Kemi Olunloyo, a notable award winning investigative journalist, tweeted on Saturday ‘’Chioma never had a Porsche, David never bought her one. The fake birthday gift was to launch the track Assurance as a publicity boost.

Olunloyo, a Ph.D holder further revealed in her Twitter handle ‘’Chioma cannot drive not to talk of a driver’s license. I broke this in 2018. Nobody believed me.’’

However, Davido and Chioma allegedly parted ways when a video surfaced online claiming the talented singer is in a relationship with Mya Yafai, ex-girlfriend of an American rapper.

Consequently, she deleted her photos with Davido from IG platform except her picture with her son.

Recall that the pair became friends in 2013, but dated in 2015. Davido spoke about the start of their relationship: ‘’I have known Chioma for about seven years. We have been dating for about five years. Lati introduced me to Chioma. We went to the same school, Babcock University. We started as friends but I got so used to her and she got so used to me as well. She is a great cook as well.”

It is reported that they were introduced to both families in September 2019, but became engaged in Lagos.

In October 2019, they welcomed their first son: David Adedeji Ifeanyi Adeleke Jr.
