    Convocation ceremony: UNIUYO announces fees grace period for graduands

    Following announcement by University of Uyo (UNIUYO) for the convocation of graduates of 26th, 27th, and 28th academic sessions, the institution has fixed grace period for graduands to pay fees.

    A press release signed by Prof.(Mrs). Enoidem B. Usoro, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Admin as the Chairman, Convocation Planning Committee as well as Mrs. Blossom E. Okorie, Registrar and Secretary to Senate, said the university will celebrate the academic achievements of students for 2017/2018, 2018/2019, and 2019/2020 sessions.

    Dates From Wednesday, November 8, 2023, to Saturday, November 11, 2023
    Graduands Honorary Degrees, Higher Degrees, First Degrees, Diplomas, Certificates
    Fees (Early Payment) N15,000 for First Degrees, Diplomas, Certificates; N20,000 for Postgraduates
    Fees (Late Payment) Additional charges apply for payments made after October 6, 2023
    Ph.D. Fees N100,000 for gown and cap
    Invitation Collection From Faculty Officers/Secretary, Postgraduate School
    Alumni Fee N3,000 Alumni Association fee
    Online Confirmation List of graduands available on the University website

    ”The Convocation Ceremony will commence on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, and end on Saturday, November 11, 2023,” the release noted.

    ”During this period, the University will confer Honorary Degrees, Higher Degrees, First Degrees and will also present Diplomas, Certificates and various Prizes to its deserving graduates.”

    On the financial obligations for graduands, UNIUYO said ”First Degree, Diploma and Certificate students are expected to pay a fee of N15,000.00 (Fifteen Thousand Naira) if the payment is made between September and October 6, 2023.

    ”However, any payments received from October 9, 2023, onwards will incur a fee of N20,000.00 (Twenty Thousand Naira).

    ‘‘For Master’s Degree and Postgraduate Diploma students, the fee is N20,000.00 (Twenty Thousand Naira) if paid between September and October 6, 2023. Those who pay from October 9, 2023, will need to pay N25,000.00 (Twenty-five Thousand Naira).’’

    ”Ph.D. Graduands are expected to pay N100,000.00 (One Hundred Thousand Naira), which covers the cost of the academic gown and cap.”

    On collection of academic Gowns and Guest Invitations, the institution said ”Each graduating student is to collect his or her academic gown and a guest invitation card from the respective Faculty Officers or the Secretary of the Postgraduate School.

    ‘‘It’s pertinent to note that graduands who haven’t yet paid the Alumni Association fee of N3,000.00 (Three Thousand Naira) are advised to do so promptly.

    ‘’The University will publish the list of all graduands on its official website: www.uniuyo.edu.ng for verification,” it pointed out.

    The release advises on the mode of payment ‘‘All requisite payments should be made online via the university’s e-portal uniuyo.edu.ng/eportals. Once there, select the ebursaryCollect Link and follow the provided instructions. Upon completion, you’ll be redirected to complete the payment via the Remita platform.

    ‘‘For any further queries or clarifications, you are encouraged to contact the University at [email protected].

    ‘‘The upcoming combined Convocation Ceremony marks a significant milestone in the academic journey of many students. It is not just a day to celebrate educational accomplishments, but also a day to look forward to future endeavours.

    ”We congratulate all graduands and look forward to celebrating this momentous occasion with you,” the school authority added.
