Plateau State in Nigeria continues as the new epicenter of COVID-19 with record-highest 59 cases.
Of the 216 new cases of COVID-19 reported across the country by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Akwa Ibom State has registered two new cases.
In a late-night tweet on Wednesday, the nation’s health agency stated that the new infections were recorded in 15 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Rivers, Abia, and Lagos have 27, 22, and 20 more infections respectively.
Others are Oyo – 18, Enugu – 17, Kaduna – 11, FCT – 11, Ogun – 10, Ebonyi – four, Osun – four, Ekiti – four, Delta – three, Edo – three and Bauchi – one.
So far, 54,463 have been confirmed, 42,439 discharged and 1,027 recorded as deaths in Nigeria.
