The high-profile wedding of the multiple award-winning singer, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido and his long-term partner, Chioma Rowland brought Lagos, the chief commercial, financial and maritime nerve-centre of Nigeria, to a standstill on Tuesday.
The top-notch ceremony held at Harbour Point for Victoria Island, Lagos attracted former Nigeria’s President Olusegun Obasanjo and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, among other dignitaries.
Dubbed “CHIVIDO2024,” the ceremony saw Obasanjo, a respected elder statesman and influential figure in Nigerian politics, among the first high-profile guests to arrive at the wedding venue.

Also present at the ceremony was the Oni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi. The monarch, who appeared in white attire and his beaded crown, was seen greeting the dignitaries at the arena.
The guest list also included the likes of Abia State Governor, Mr. Alex Otti, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Osun Governor, Ademola Adeleke.
Added to the glittering assembly were the x-Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Senator Daisy Danjuma of Edo South, and Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu.
The singer’s billionaire father, Adedeji Adeleke dressed in beautiful Yoruba attire was at the showpiece.
From the entertainment industry were such celebrities as footballer Victor Osimhen; popular socialist, businessman Obi Cubana with Layi Wasabi; P Square; Asake; Ebuka Obi-Uchenndu, Craze Clown; Paul Okoye; Patoranking, among others.
Ubi Franklin, Chioma’s manager, was seen sporting a female headpiece at the ceremony.
Couple’s attires at the wedding
Davido and Chioma were adorned in matching burgundy outfits, while the groomsmen and bridal train were elegantly dressed in yellow attire.
The couple later changed into a regal white Igbo outfit.
Davido, a globally acclaimed artist with numerous hits and awards to his name, and Chioma, a renowned chef and media personality, have been in the public eye for years.
Their relationship, marked by love and resilience, has captured the hearts of many, making their union a celebrated milestone.

Long walk to the wedding
On Monday, June 24, the singer shared a pre-wedding video ahead of their big day.
Recall that Davido proposed to Chioma in 2019, but their relationship faced challenges in 2021 amid allegations of the singer being involved in another relationship.
However, in March 2023, the singer stated that he and Chioma had officially married.
“I travelled. I am married. A lot of different things but we are ready now to get back on the road,” he said.
The couple welcomed twins in the US in October 2023.

Davido had waltzed and produced Assurance, a hit track in honour of love for Chioma, his heartthrob.
The singer was seen in a viral video prostrating to Chioma’s parents while pleading for her hand in marriage at their wedding holding in Lagos on Tuesday June 25.

Davido revealed that the value of his fiancée, Chioma Rowland’s engagement ring is equivalent to the price of two or three Rolls Royce.
Given that the lowest price of a Rolls Royce is estimated at $20,000, with the cost of two amounting to $40,000, Chioma’s engagement ring is estimated to be worth over N30 million.
Davido’s best man
In a recent social media post, Davido disclosed that his close associate, Lati, will be his best man at his upcoming wedding on June 25, 2024.
