So far, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has recovered additional N1.4 billion from commercial banks for National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
EFCC returned the money to the NHIS on August 5, 2022, which is part of the funds which some commercial banks fraudulently refused to transmit to the Treasury Single Account (TSA), since 2015.

Similarly, EFCC had released N1.55 billion to the scheme on February 10, 2022, bringing the total N3.9 billion.
A statement by The EFCC, head, media and publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, said the Commission had earlier on September 16, 2021, released N1,300,000,000, also recovered from the banks to the agency.
