The #ENDSARS protesters in Uyo, Akwa Ibom capital chanted “Yahoo Boy!” “Yahoo Boy!” as soon the official car conveying Governor Udom Emmanuel drove and pulled up on the mouth of Government House, Uyo.
The protesters numbering hundreds who had marched along major streets in Uyo causing huge traffic hold-ups later moved the boat of protest to Wellington Bassey Way End, Uyo.
As soon as they reached the gate to Government House, Governor Udom who had just returned from a trip decided to stop and address the protesters.
Then the protest turned awry and the protesters waving leaves swam to the official car, chanting “Yahoo boy” “Yahoo boy.” The trending video on this has gone viral.
Yet, the embarrassed governor stood and addressed the protesters, telling that he was in support of bringing reforms to the organisation.
Emmanuel commended President Muhammadu Buhari for listening to the public by disbanding SARS and hoped that more measures would be adopted when he reconvenes a state security meeting.
He expressed surprise that an arm of the police usually regarded as friends of the public turned to be enemy in perpetrating brutality and other forms of assault against the civilians.
Udom Emmanuel offered protesters N5million to stop protest and they rejected. The people called him yahoo boy as he was leaving.

Meanwhile, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on Tuesday joined protesters and called for the total reform of the Nigeria Police Force.
The governor, who had banned #EndSARS protests in the state last night, made a U-turn on Tuesday.
Wike, while addressing the protesters, said though he was not in support of the Tuesday protest, no governor in the country had protested against the security outfit as he had done.
He said, “I never supported us to be here. I took an oath to protect the lives and property of people of the state. The blood of Rivers of people matters to me.
“Rivers State has suffered in the hands of SARS. When we raised the alarm of SARS activities, they did not give attention but it has now happened in other places.
“No governor in this country can say they have challenged SARS the way we have done. When there was so much kidnapping in this state, I raised an alarm to the federal government.
“I am the only governor that has come out to start end SARS protest. No other state. We have lost so many people in this state to SARS. No state supported us. SARS has killed our people a lot,” he stated.
This was as Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji lashed at Governor Wike, for barring residents from staging an #EndSARS protest in the state.
The state government last night released a statement barring residents from engaging in any peaceful protest.
According to the statement, anyone who participates in any protest will be made to face the law. The statement added that the Federal government has disbanded SARS hence there is no need for the protest.
The movie star disagreed with the governor’s decision and took to Twitter to blast him. She wrote: “Your moustache says it all.
“You could have chosen to be any kind of leader you wanted. You chose to be a dictator. Do you have children? That’s a shame. LEADERS WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE for every loss of innocent life in their State. #ENDSARSOPPRESSION #EndSarsNow”
