A dark political cloud is allegedly hanging over the Nigerian House of Representatives following plot by members to impeach the Speaker, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, an investigation by Straightnews has shown.
A source in the house confided in Straightnews that some members are going about collecting signatures from others at least to have a two-third majority in the 360-member house to seal the plot.
An insider confided in the online newspaper that “There is rumbling in the House of Representatives. Members threaten to impeach Speaker Gbajabiamila. Signatures are being collected for that.”
A source that wants to remain anonymous further stated “Reason is that members are not properly carried along. Welfare and patronage not transparent nor encouraging. However, Chairmen and Deputy of the house Committees are scheduled to meet President Buhari latest 7th October.”
