The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAC) has appointed eight lead consultants and 234 consultants for the verification, recovery of revenues from collecting banks, agencies and companies and remittance of same to the Federal Government’s purse, finding carried out by Straightnews has shown.
The appointment letter exclusively obtained by Straightnews is entitled APPOINTMENT AS A CONSULTANT TO THE REVENUE MOBILISATION ALLOCATION AND FISCAL COMMISSION (RMAF) ON THE VERIFICATION AND RECONCILIATION OF REVENUE INFLOWS/COLLECTIONS/DEDUCTIONS AND REMITTANCES FROM THE COLLECTING BANKS/AGENCIES/COMPANIES TO THE APPROPRIATE GOVERNMENT TREASURY.
The letter signed by Lawal Musa, Director Procurement for the commission’s Chairman and dated September 4 shows that the assignment will cover from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2019.
“The duration of the assignment is six (6) months with effect from 22nd September, 2020. Your consultancy fee is 5% of total recoveries, payable at the end of the exercise,” it stated.
One of the consultants in Lagos who spoke with Straightnews reporter Wednesday said “a lead consultant is controlling 60 to 80 firms.”
SCOPE OF Work
The consultants are expected to cover allocated agency as given by the commission, reconcile all flows of revenue accruable to the appropriate government treasury, verify that the amount expended by any agency from accruable revenue is in accordance with stipulated Act that established the organization (if any) and submit a comprehensive report of all findings to the lead consultant.
