Playwright Wole Soyinka’s drama Bro Jethro, whose central theme is religious hypocrisy and charlatanism, is playing out in Kumasi, the capital of Ghana.
This follows claims by Prophet Eboh Noah, claiming God revealed to him that the world would end today, December 25, through massive flooding, which is contrary to the stance of Genesis 9: 14-15.
In the drama, Bro Jethro presents himself as a devout Christian, but his actions are driven by greed, deceit, and self-interest contrasting genuine faith with the pursuit of money and comfort comparable to what Prophet Noah is encouraging by playing on the intelligence of the gullible.
Soyinka criticizes people who use religion as a business or a way to exploit others rather than to live morally.

Self-proclaimed Prophet Noah recently acquired a new Mercedes-Benz (possibly a 2025 model) valued around $89,000, according to recent social media buzz, though the exact model and year vary in reports, highlighting a new luxury vehicle purchase in late 2025, contrasting with older models like the valuable 1955 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé, and general Mercedes prices.
Apart, the Prophet is said to have started as a content creator, and had splashed about N700 million on a CyberTruck few weeks.
Adherents rush to book spaces
A Nigerian called Ifeoma and residents reportedly rushed to secure spaces inside one of eight arks built by Prophet Eboh Noah, who claims God revealed to him that the world will end today, December 25, through massive flooding.
According to the prophet, only those inside his arks will be saved when the flood begins, a claim that has triggered panic, curiosity, and intense online reactions across Ghana and beyond.
Earlier this year, Ghanaian authorities briefly arrested Prophet Eboh Noah over the prophecy. However, he was later released after officials ruled that making religious prophecies does not amount to a criminal offence.
Prophet ‘Lies’
Robed in sackcloth or rags, Ghanaian Noah has lied by saying God has answered our prayers, the rains and floods has been postponed.
The Ghanaian seer who predicted that the world would be destroyed on 25th December 2025, God, who reveals to redeem, has given him another vision.
‘‘The new vision is to expand the ark to accommodate everyone coming to it for salvation.
‘‘God has therefore granted me and the world more time to build additional arks for all who seek salvation,’’ the prophet stated.
Meanwhile, Ghanaian Noah has allegedly been arrested for spreading fake news about God ending the world on the 25th of December. Facts on this are sketchy.
