Amidst trending accusation of ‘human sacrifice,’ Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno has doused the raging fire that would have consumed and eroded the unity and credibility of the First family in the state.
Responding to a resurfaced video in which his second daughter, Jane Edidiong Ufot, accusing him of attempting to use her for ritual sacrifice, Governor Eno insisted that his family remains united and unaffected by what he described as political distractions.
“I don’t want to die like my mother,” she said in the footage. “I will not be a sacrifice like my mother and brother,” Jane claimed.

Patience Oluwakemi Umo Eno, the late First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, died on Thursday, September 26, 2024 and was buried on November 29, 2024 after a funeral service at her country home in Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area.
Reacting to the viral video while addressing journalists in Uyo, the state capital, Eno dismissed the allegations, attributing the circulation of the clip to political detractors aiming to distract him ahead of the administration’s second anniversary.
“My family is intact and you can see all of them here,” Eno stated. “The event you are talking about took place immediately my wife died last year, so why is it surfacing now on the eve of our second anniversary when we are celebrating the milestone we have achieved?”
He continued: “That teaches me that there are detractors around. My family is intact, that’s Jane herself there. We are a good family.”
Reaffirming his commitment to his duties as governor, Eno emphasized his resolve to stay focused.
“I can’t be detracted, I remain focused. I will continue to serve Akwa Ibom people.”
He concluded with an appeal for privacy, saying: “My family is intact. Even in politics, family should be off limits.”
Eno’s daughter accuses the father of sacrificing her mother
Recall that Governor Eno’s daughter, had, some weeks ago, accused her father of having a hand in the death of his late wife, Patience, who passed away following an undisclosed illness.
Straightnews gathered that the allegation was contained in a video currently trending online.
Mrs Ufot, who currently serves as the Governor’s Senior Special Adviser on Health, Safety and Environment, described her mother as a “sacrifice” and declared that she would not suffer the same fate.
“I’m not a sacrifice, mummy was, but I’m not,” she said in the trending video.
The clip also captured a moment where she handed her phone to her young daughter, who appeared to be engaged in a video call with Governor Eno. The child, prompted by her mother, posed a question to the governor on the other end of the line.
“So, Grandpa, do you want them to kill us?” the child asked. “Do you want them to die like my baby brother died?”
No audible response was heard from the governor during the exchange, and Mrs. Ufot did not clarify who she referred to as “them.” The identity of the “baby brother” mentioned also remains unverified as of press time.
Mrs. Ufot, in the video, further claimed that her life and that of her daughter were in danger due to unspecified revelations that she suggested may soon come to light.
“If I die today or my daughter dies. If we die because God is exposing the truth, so be it. But my blood will not go scot-free,” she stated.
