A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has expressed angst over stranded Nigerian girls caught in the web of human trafficking in Lebanon.

Two media- CNN and LondonRealTV- had broadcast a group of stranded girls in Lebanon and later the video trended ceaselessly in the social media.

Fani-Kayode who tweeted on Friday bemoaned “This is sad & unfortunate. I guess not everyone will have a good sallah. Whatever they may have done wrong these are OUR people. These are OUR girls. These are OUR compatriots. These are Nigerians. We cannot abandon them. We cannot turn a blind eye to this.”

According to him, “I have forwarded this video to the FG, Presidency@MBuhari, First Lady @aishambuhari, Speaker of the House @femigbaja, Min. of Aviation @hadisirika & Min. of Foreign Affairs @GeoffreyOnyeama for N/A. I appeal to them in the name of God & humanity, to help them out & bring our girls home.”

“I appeal to them to wipe away our tears & put an end to this national shame & disgrace. First our people are sold into slavery in Libya &it is shown on @CNN. Now our girls are caught in the evil web of human trafficking &are stranded in Lebanon &it is shown on @LondonRealTV.

“The whole world views these two powerful media mediums and are laughing at us. Please let us do something to salvage the situation and regain our honor. These are OUR girls: we cannot and must not abandon them. Barka da Sallah,” he stated.
