The disgraced Ibom Air passenger, Ms Comfort Emmanson, who was arraigned for violently attacking a purser, says she is yet to take a legal action against the airline.

Emmanson, who was allegedly stripped her naked, filmed and posted on internet during an altercation with the air hostess and security officials at Lagos Airport, was later remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre for assault.

She stated while denying the story making rounds in different quarters that she had filed a N500 billion lawsuit against the Federal Government and the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

In a post shared on her Instagram story, Emmanson described the report, which she said has gone viral, as false and misleading.

She added that she will inform the general public whenever she takes such legal action against the Federal Government.

“I have not taken any such legal action yet. When I eventually do anything of such nature (which is imminent), I will personally update the public myself via my official page,” she wrote.

On an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos, Emmanson reportedly refused to switch off her cellphone as instructed during a safety announcement. She was reported to have attacked a purser, one Juliana Edwards.

The airline filed charges against her, leading to her arraignment. The Airline Operators of Nigeria banned her from flying for life, but the ban was later lifted.

On August 13, following consultations led by Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, the police withdrew all charges against Emmanson. The court approved the withdrawal and discharged the case.

Emmanson seeks compensation for ‘disgraced’ daughter

Meanwhile, the father of Ibom Air passenger, Comfort,  Mr. Godwin Emmanson, has come out to demand compensation for his daughter who was filmed n@ked and the footage released online.

In a video circulating on social media, Mr Emmanson said he is a trained tailor who used the proceeds from his job to see his children through school. He said he was shocked when he was told about the airport incident Comfort was involved in and was even more shocked when the viral footage showing her breasts were shown to him.

He suggested that his daughter isn’t getting any compensation because he is a ‘poor.’

‘’They have rubbished us, tarnished our image. I am not myself. I don’t even feel like eating. They stripped my child naked. How can you strip somebody’s child naked and then post it for the whole world to see? Who posted it? What has the government done about this? Is it because I am speaking as a ‘church rat”? I am not happy. No matter what, compensation must be made.” he said.
