Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Pinnick has admitted that he could not sleep since Nigeria lost to Central African Republic in Lagos.

Pinnick who bared his mind was addressing the Super Eagles squad ahead of their second leg must win World Cup qualifying match against the Central African Republic.

On Thursday, October 7, CAR Substitute Karl Namnganda’s 90th-minute goal at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos put an end to Nigeria’s perfect start to the World Cup qualifying campaign as Raoul Savoy’s men earned their first maximum points of Group C.

The defeat was Nigeria’s first loss at home in a World Cup qualifier in 40 years.

Addressing the Super Eagles players in their camping hotel on Friday, October 7, disappointed NFF boss reminded the players that football is the only thing uniting Nigeria at the moment, and urged the players to understand the seriousness of the second leg fixture in Douala.

The FIFA Council member revealed he and the NFF team haven’t slept since the loss to CAR, a team ranked 124 by FIFA, because of the disgraceful nature of the game.

After addressing the players, team captain Ahmed Musa apologised on behalf of the players while saying they have all analyzed the match and will make amends.
