As Akwa Ibom daughter, Mrs. Uto Ukpanah bagged the first-ever Global Corporate Secretary of the Year award, the Institute of Charted Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN), Akwa Ibom State chapter has congratulated her for the feat.

Ukpanah, who is the National Vice President of Charted Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN), is the company Secretary of MTN (Nigeria).

The message of felicitation signed by Chairman ICSAN, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Barr Chinonyerem Ini Ememobong, ACIS, and made available to our correspondent in Uyo on Monday says the global recognition has put the Governance Institute in Nigeria on the global hall of fame and excellence.

The award was presented at the maiden edition of the Corporate Secretary International Association (CSIA) Global Governance Award, held April 23 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Ememobong hailed the ICSAN National Vice Chairman for emerging winner through a stringent process of evaluation by a jury of expert practitioners, and thought leaders in the field of corporate governance.

According to her, the award was a testament to Ukpanah’s hard work, discipline, character, perseverance and professionalism.

While encouraging Mrs. Ukpanah not to rest on her oars but to strive to soar on to higher heights, the state ICSAN Boss appreciated her for putting Akwa Ibom on the global spotlight

She, however, charged other members of ICSAN to strive for excellence in their various fields.

“This recognition puts ICSAN in the global hall of fame and excellence. When we recall that the selection for this award was through a stringent process of strict evaluation by distinguished panel of judges made up of experts and thought leaders in the field of corporate governance, it becomes clear from their unanimous decision that the feat is a testament to your hard work, discipline, diligence, character, perseverance and professionalism.

“It is on this note that I, on behalf of the Executive Committee of ICSAN, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, heartily congratulate you for this most deserving and very meritorious global award,” she said.

Corporate Secretaries International Association (CSIA) is structured as an international federation of 15 national professional bodies, representing more than 100,000 corporate secretaries and governance professionals in more than 70 countries throughout the world.
