Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday, September 20 published the name of Senator Godswill Akpabio as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District.
A press release by Jackson Udom, Chief Press Secretary to Senator Godswill Akpabio confirmed publication of the certificate.

Straightnews had reported that Federal High Court 8 (Vacation Court) in Abuja on Thursday, 15 had declared Akpabio as the authentic candidate and ordered INEC to publish the names and particulars of the immediate past Minister of Niger Delta Affairs as the APC candidate for Senatorial District.
However, INEC remarked ‘Court order’ under Akpabio’s name.
The senatorial election will hold across the country on February 6, 2023.
