Justice Tsoho Takes Over As FHC CJ Friday

Justice John Tsoho will Friday take over as the acting Chief Judge of the Federal High Court.

Tsoho will take over from Justice Adamu Abdu Kafarati who bowed out of active judicial service, having clocked the 65 years mandatory retirement age Thursday.

The new Acting CJ will be sworn in by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Tanko Muhammad at the Supreme Court.

Justice Tsoho, who was born on June 24, 1959 in Mbaduku in Benue State, will have five years to serve as Chief Judge of the High Court, if he is confirmed in substantive capacity.

He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1985.

After practising in Gboko for one year, he served as the Inspector of Area Court, Benue State Judiciary till December 1987.

He became a Magistrate/Chief Magistrate in the Benue State Judiciary in January 1988 and was appointed Arbitrator in a Contractual Dispute from February 1994 to June 1994.

Tsoho became the acting Chief Registrar of the State High Court on October 9, 1997, and was appointed a Judge of the Federal High Court on November 12, 1998.
