British Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton has equalled Michael Schumacher’s record after winning his seventh world title.
Hamilton is now the most decorated racer the sport has ever seen – with more wins (94), more poles (97) and more podiums (163) than any driver who has gone before.
The 35-year-old, who grew up on a Stevenage council estate, delivered what has been described as his best display of the season as he won a dramatic Turkish Grand Prix on Sunday morning.
Hamilton told Sky Sports after the race: “I’m definitely a bit lost for words… it’s so important for kids out there to hopefully see this and to know… don’t listen to anybody who tells you you can’t achieve something.
“Dream the impossible, speak it into existence, and you’ve got to work for it, you’ve got to chase it and you’ve got to never give up.
“Never doubt yourself.”
