Nigerian lawyer, Mrs Adachukwu Okafor, who allegedly abused her 11-year-old house help now Nigeria Police detention is to be arraigned in court.
The Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Women Affairs, Ohaeri Joseph, in a statement, said the lawyer has been on the run since the news of her alleged crime broke on the internet.
He said weapons used to brutalise the child include a broken bottle, a knife and an electric pressing iron.
The minister had earlier placed a N2 million reward for any information on the lawyer who disappeared after a video of her misdeeds went viral.
“Days after the Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs Uju Ohanenye, placed a N2 million bounty on an Onitsha-based lawyer, Mrs Adachukwu Okafor, for child abuse in Onitsha, she has been arrested.

“The lady’s action, which went viral across various social media platforms, was alleged to have inflicted bodily harm on the minor.
“The lady has been on the run for weeks after being reported to have inflicted severe injuries on the minor, which prompted the minister to place a reward of N2 million for information on her whereabouts,” he said.
Ohaeri said the ministry will partner with the police to begin an immediate investigation into the matter.
“The girl is still undergoing medical treatment in the hospital, but I can assure members of the public that she will get justice,” the statement added.
Recall that In a post on his official Facebook page, Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo said the abuse of minors and vulnerable persons was not tolerated in the state, disclosing that a team from the state Ministry for Women and Social Welfare received a report on the incident on Wednesday, 31 January.
“Mrs Adachukwu Cukelu-Okafor, who visibly violated the young girl left in her custody, is one out of many who do not deserve a place amongst decent humanity. We have commenced actions to ensure she is brought to Justice.
”This should serve as a firm warning to all abusers of any kind, that Anambra State is not a place where their excesses will be condoned,” the governor had stated in the post.
