As the race for the political offices in 2023 in Nigeria is simmering with interested political office holders, stakeholders and political parties gearing up to grab for their cronies, the prospective office seekers are bound to devise strategies to assist them to capture the envisaged throne.

In Akwa Ibom, some political office seekers are busy deploying funds for consultations. Others try to foster a strong political affiliation with the kingmakers and the electorates, as well as go spiritual to achieving their aspirations.

However, from the spiritual angle, Pastor Patrick Henry Edet, the founder of Grace Family, Uyo in Akwa Ibom State, said “It is no longer going to be business as usual in the governance of Akwa Ibom. In other words, people will not just emerge from anywhere to govern the state.”

Speaking on Planet 101.1 FM, Uyo under his Grace Hour programme, the servant of God declared “Some of us have been keeping quiet other times, but this time around, we will not keep quiet.

“Nobody should think that since I am a man of God, not a politician, I should not be interested in politics. As a prophet and Akwa Ibom person, I am interested in what is happening and who is governing the state.

“Though 2023 is not far from this year, we have to talk about it now. The next Akwa Ibom governor will come from God not from the occultic group. God owns this state and nobody from another kingdom is permitted to rule this state without His consent.”

Turning his spiritual lens on betting in the state, Edet declared “I wage war against every form of betting in the state. I set people who are addicted to betting free from it.”

In a terse New Year message, the man of God prophesised that betting has ended in the land from today, noting “Whatever has been putting people in bondage and in penury, I pull you, people, out from such.  Be free from untimely addiction to Naijabet, pool betting and other forms of betting in the land.”
