Nigeria has booked a place in the next year’s African Cup of Nations Cup competition in Cameroon after playing a one-all draw with South Africa on Saturday in Johannersburg to garner 10 points in Group E.

South Africa has nine points, Libya, four while Seychelles got one point in the group. From this standing, South Africa will join Nigeria from the group.

Samuel Kalu put Nigeria ahead in the eight minutes as his shot took a wicked deflection off a South African defender past the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper.

Bafana Bafana Percy Tau dribbled Omeruo to run clear of Super Eagles defence before squaring for Mothiba to score in an empty net for South Africa in the 38th minute.

This is even as Libya whitewashed Seychelles 8-1 on Saturday.

    Goal for Nigeria!!!

08:00 mins: Samuel Kalu puts Nigeria ahead as his shot took a wicked deflection off a South African defender past the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper.

It’s been a slow start to the game with both teams trying to find their rhytem but the Super Eagles would have felt a little bit slighted after a wrong offside call from the referee with Ahmed Musa clear on goal.
