Nigerians React To Fani-Kayode’s Statement On Need For Restructuring, Separation

Some Nigerians have reacted to a statement credited to Femi Fani-Kayode calling on the South to prepare for either restructuring or separation because the North wants to retain power for 20 years in the country.

Fan-Kayode, Sunday, tweeted “Hear this and hear it well. Anyone that believes that a southerner will be President in 2023 is a fool. The north has ALREADY decided to keep power for the next 20 years and sadly there is NOTHING we can do about it. The only hope for the south is RESTRUCTURING or SEPARATION.”

According to him, “BREAKDOWN: NW 4 years + NE 8 years + NC 8 years. Total = 20 years. 20 years of northern rule! Enjoy it!”

Shortly, his followers started retweeting. Henry Afam‏ tweeted “Surely they will gather but since their gathering is not of God, they will scatter. And know this my brother, they are scattering already. The Egyptian we are seeing today, we shall see no more.”

Akparawa Nkaiso Edemenang remarked “He gave them the promised land, but told them they had to fight every inch to get the land. No amount of fasting & prayers & then snoring at home will get the promise. Wake up & have an understanding of the works you need to complement your faith. Thanks.”

ThankGod Ukanchukwu differed thus “I believe your words but I choose not to believe this. The year 2023 is for the South East and we should not give our rights away with these kinds of words that emboldens those who are planning. If southerners are united with one voice, the north has no choice than acquiesce.

Mutair Cole‏ noted “I still wonder why we think we have similar orientations or that we share similar values in this present Nigeria. We are not one and people should stop thinking anyone that shares this opinion is an agent of doom with divisive message.

“The Hausas are distinctively different from the yorubas and ibos combined, Each tribe has distinctive values and orientations. To even think of the numerous languages is more troubling. The greedy leaders have continually deceived us with the diversity concept.

Strong countries must emerge from this Nigeria for these Lugardians to progress.. Let the Northerners be, Let the ibos be and let the yorubas be..I support separation wholeheartedl,” he added.
