Friends, fans and relations of Akwa Ibom-born Nollywood actor, Moses Armstrong are still in shock over the sudden demise of his wife, Rita, in auto crash.

Rita Armstrong died Saturday at Ore along Lagos-Benin Expressway.

Popularly known as “Mummy Timaro”, she was f rom Uyo Itam and was followed by 1,988 fans on the Facebook.

A member of the Actors Guild at Ibom Actors Forum, “Mummy Timaro” as she was fondly called left behind her husband, Moses who is a Special Assistant to Akwa Ibom Governor on Agricultural Projects and two female kids.

From her Facebook page, friends and fans poured torrents of heart-rending messages in her memory.

In their condolence message, Actors Guild of Nigeria, Akwa Ibom said “We regret to announce the untimely demise of a wonderful and a pearl to our veteran actor and illustrious member of the Guild. She died in a ghastly motor accident. May God give Hon. Armstrong the strentght to bear the loss.”

Uju Lisa‎ said “Am still in shock, can’t believe your gone. Am still expecting that a call will come through that you are alive and that you have woken up from your deep sleep, but this is 32 hours now no word from you. I remember we prayed and sang together in church on our last Wednesday revival service. It is so painful.”

Godwin Atem‎ noted “The word “R.I.P” is hard to pronounce now. Though I’ve never met with you before, but based on the write-ups from your families, friends and acquaintances, you were a wonderful and caring woman as I suppose. May the Lord give those whom you’ve left, the fortitude to bear your sudden demise.”

Daniel Saviour Abas observed “We often say that the hour of death cannot be forecast. When we say this we imagine this hour would be in a distant future. We never thought we would be thinking about Rita Armstrong as a memory. Yes, it came way too soon and as a shock and still feels a bit unreal.

“We all have different memories of Senorita but one thing they all have in common is her humility and respect for persons of all age, whether young or old.

I learnt you went through so much in the past year, things that would have broken a lot of people but you never. You carried on gracefully because you knew you had to be strong for your husband, kids, friends and fans,” he added.

No date is yet fixed for her burial.
