    NSCDC Arrests Cleric For Duping Victims of N36m

    A Nigerian cleric who allegedly committed advanced fee fraud by duping unsuspecting victims ranging from N300,000 to N36 million has been arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ondo State Command.

    Oladele Ayuba alongside two other suspects was paraded for alleged offences ranging from obtaining by false pretence, illegal possession of counterfeit money and vandalism of transformer.

    Pedro Awili Ideba, the Corps Commandant, who gave the names of the other two suspects as Abiodun Oluwaseun and Jayeola Tosin said the Pastor Ayuba duped many who went to him for prayers of various amounts.

    Ideba stated “but he was arrested following a complaint by one of his victims, Tajudeen Ekundayo, who lost N4.3 million to the syndicate.

    He stated that “immediately the complaint was lodged at the Command headquarters my men swung into action and arrested the man who is the king pin of the syndicate in Arigidi Akoko while other members of the syndicate was still at large.

    The commandant added that criminal activities ranging from kidnapping, ritual killing and fraud have been traced to the cleric who came from Ilorin, Kwara state.

    Also paraded was one Abiodun Oluwaseun who specialised in printing and spending counterfeit Naira, he was arrested after using N24,000 fake N1,000 denomination to buy goods from one provision seller.

    Pedro said the woman reported the case to the State command and the men of the Corps trailed the syndicate and arrested one of them while others are still at large.
