As the 2023 general elections draw near, Apostle Emmanuel Nuhu Kure, the Founder of the Throneroom Trust Ministry, Kafanchan, Kaduna State, says OBIdient people are growing like wild fire.

OBIdient people are supporters of Labour Party led by Mr. Peter Obi, the party’s Presidential Candidate in the forthcoming elections.

Kure who stated this last Friday in his sermon at the monthly thanksgiving/prayer meeting at Government House, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital, said the OBIdient people have shattered the hope of most Nigerian electorate banking solely on All Progressives Congress (APC) or Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The clergyman who is stunned by the support youths and elites in the country are giving to OBIdient party in the 2023 general elections attributed the phenomenal support to the Lord’s doing.

The fiery preacher said without the support of the villagers and illiterates, the party has capacity to win Presidency without any legislator in the National Assembly.

On May 29, 2015, he was the clergyman who is a friend of Akwa Ibom Governor Udom Emmanuel placed his right on shoulder during inauguration at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

According to him, ‘‘We will invoke the presence of the Lord to continue with the state, not to stop in this government. We will invoke the favour of the Lord to continue with the state. Why am I doing this, particularly for this state? Why has the Lord commanded it? It is because the nation of Nigeria is in a dismal position.

‘‘Nigeria has entered into a crossroad and the battle in that crossroad is affecting every state that almost threatens the destiny of every state. Nothing now is properly defined in Nigeria.’’

Kure recalled ‘‘At first, everything was very clear that it was either going to be APC or PDP.  And then suddenly, the Lord tries to confuse us and take His glory. He introduced another way – the company of the obedient people that is growing like wildfire. Almost everywhere you enter now, it’s like they wanted to bathe, at least, by the fire of the youths and some of the elites.

He noted ‘‘If only youths and elites were to vote and no villagers and illiterates, the obedient party will win even if they don’t have a parliamentarian or a legislator. I keep on asking question, what is happening people are confused? God is trying to wake us up to know that power, the owner of Heaven has right to reshuffle at anytime.

‘‘Obi does not have money, forget about whatever rumours you are hearing. I don’t care how many banks they say he has by a rumour. His banks will go broke overnight if he opens the doors of those banks into our own politics.’’

The clergyman, therefore, sought ‘‘We should go before God in repentance because we didn’t appreciate God’s goodness in the days when He first began to carry us and show us mercy. We threw Him out of the center and we began to think that it is by our power and by our might, by our money and by our corruption.’’

Kure thanked God for keeping and sustaining Udom Emmanuel administration in peace and favour for the past seven years, stressing the need the incoming leadership to maintain the grace from May 29, next year.

The service was attended by Governor Udom Emmanuel and wife, Martha; his deputy, Mr. Moses Ekpo, clergymen and other top government functionaries.
