Panic enveloped Ben Curion Airport in Israel following intermittent shelling by Houthi rebels, forcing many to flee into bomb shelters, agency has reported.
This is as Yemeni Armed Forces claimed responsibility for multiple attacks on Israeli and US targets, including Ben Gurion Airport, a power station, and the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier, in response to ongoing aggression against Gaza and US-led military actions in Yemen.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesperson for Yemen’s military, confirmed on Tuesday that Yemeni missile units struck Ben Gurion International Airport, located 20 kilometers southeast of Tel Aviv, with a Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile.

Yemeni forces also launched a Zulfiqar ballistic missile at a power station south of occupied al-Quds. The Zulfiqar missile is known for its radar-evading capabilities and maneuverability, with a range exceeding 2,000 kilometers. Saree stated both attacks successfully achieved their objectives.
Additionally, Yemen’s naval, missile, and drone forces carried out a multi-pronged strike on the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier, a US Navy vessel.
Saree explained the attack involved kamikaze drones and cruise missiles, executed as US forces prepared a major airstrike against Yemen.
The senior military official confirmed the offensive successfully prevented the US aerial assault.
Saree emphasized that the Yemeni Armed Forces are prepared to confront any threats from Israel or the US, asserting that their actions are in defense of Palestinians.
He reiterated Yemen’s commitment to continue retaliatory operations against Israel as long as the siege on Gaza remains in place.
Since the start of the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, Yemen has expressed unwavering support for Palestine.
The Ansarullah resistance movement has also targeted Israeli, US, and UK ships in an effort to halt Israel’s war in Gaza.
These operations have notably disrupted Israeli trade by shutting down the Eilat port, causing significant economic losses.
Yemeni authorities have vowed to intensify their attacks until Israel halts its ground and aerial offensives in Gaza.
As of the latest reports, Israeli airstrikes have killed at least 45,541 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured over 108,000 since the war’s onset.

Since the October 7 attacks by Hamas on Israel, the Houthis have been targeting shipping in the Red Sea in solidarity – they say – with Gaza. After Israel struck back on Saturday, the Houthis said they launched a fresh barrage of missiles towards Israel, promising a response that will be “huge and great.”
The assault killed at least four people and injured 21 others, the state news agency in Yemen reported. The strikes came after a week of attacks by the Iran-backed militia.
The Israeli military last Thursday unleashed a significant air assault on parts of Yemen controlled by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia in retaliation for the group’s missile attacks against Israel, striking back at an adversary more than a thousand miles away.
The Israeli assault comes after a week of the Houthis’ near-nightly launches of ballistic missiles and drones against Israel.
