The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Sunday, declared that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP is leading with 254,698 votes during the September 22 governorship election in Osun State, though the election was inconclusive.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, however, polled 254,345 votes to come second in the keenly contested election.

Senator Ademola Adeleke is the PDP governorship candidate while Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola is the APC governorship candidate.

The returning officer for the governorship election, Prof. Joseph Adeola, who announced the results reeled out the total number of valid votes to be 767,955 and rejected votes to be 47,843.

Adeola added that the margin between the PDP and APC which is 353, and the total cancelled ballots totalling 3,348 will not make any party a winner of the contest, in line with Electoral Act.

He said though the election is inconclusive, the exact date for re-run would be announced soonest.
