    Peter Obi: ‘Uyo Is One Of The 10 Fastest Growing States In Nigeria’

    “Uyo is one of the 10 fastest growing states in the country,” according to Peter Obi, the Vice Presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

    Though Uyo, the state capital is hard to come by in the internet as one of the 10 fastest Nigerian growing states in 2018, Akwa Ibom State is easily found according to Nigeria Infopedia not Economist Obi made reference to.

    Obi, a one-time Anambra State Governor for eight years, spoke at the 2018 Akwa Ibom State Christmas Carols Festival held at Uyo Sports Stadium on Friday night.

    Obi who was one of the guests also said that Akwa Ibom State is rated as one of the highly ranked in education and health.

    This one was not found too to authenticate his claim.

    Governor Udom Emmanuel in setting the tone aid “We have million reasons to say thank God for tuning our state to a shining light. For three and half years, political assassination and kidnapping has not occurred. No one has been molested for sharing a different opinion.”

    Akwa Ibom has well-developed Ewet Housing Estate, Shelter Afrique Housing Estate and other housing estates. It has excellent road network, Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Victor Attah International Airport, Akwa Ibom State University, many modern hospitals including Ibom Specialist Hospital, Uyo as well as free and compulsory education policy from primary to secondary school level.

    Popular national and international gospel artistes such as US-born Nicole Mullen who sang “All things are possible,”  EBEN, Kunle Ayayi, Angela Christie, a US-based saxophonist,  Mercy Chinwo rendered “Excess Love,” Abuja-based Midnight Crew, PREYE, Hype Men, a South African evangelist and worship leader, featured.

    Others were Aity-Dennis Inyang,  Schubert Chorale from Abuja, Akwa Ibom Government Chorale Group leading the 3,000 mass choir,  “Praise God from whom all blessings flow,” “Praise Him, All creatures here below” Bongo Ikwue with “Amen.”

    High points were the declaration of the 2018 Akwa Ibom Christmas Carols Festival open by the first family- Governor Udom Emmanuel leading Martha, his wife and four children- two boys and two girls as well display of fireworks to round off the festival.
